While youth has come and gone
Bridges have been built for another world
One of excitement and promise to come

While adult life has now turned into years

Of wife and mother and now grandmother
Bridges have been built for another world

While Elvis sings softly of times long ago
I’ll Remember You, tenderly, with a passion
Building my bridge to grow old in another world

While yet another Elvis song is filled with Memories

I still long for those times of youth
And wish that I had never burnt my bridge to you

Hello, Tobie. OI saw in your profile that you enjoy oldies and country music. Have a look at ours, JC and Donna Lee, in You Tube. And we have some poetry at Jim's Poems and, a book, a Detective Story I enjoyed your poems and your story. I hope you don't mind that I am linked to you. Happy Holiday, Jim
