Deliverance

There was a time in History
That God sent to you and me
A man born for this day

While His life was spent
Teaching His Father’s message
Of Eternal life and Redemption

With a plan laid out long before you and I
His judgement sat before a lesser earthly man
Judged guilty by fear of His Might

His path took Him to a Hill that day
Burden with the weight of a Cross
While a Crown of Thorns adorned His head

While His Mother watched each nail
Put through His Hands and Feet
With his Sides pierced and Vinegar to moist His thirst

By His sides hung two thieves
And with his Grace granted them eternal life
While the agony plagued His Earthly Life

The Earth shook and turned to Darkness
Many knew a wrong had been done
As he gave up his Ghost

Asking His Father to forgive those
Who had chosen to take His life
His blood shed that day for you and I

As they cleansed His Body
Wrapping it in a white Shroud
They put the Stone in place and cried

Returning they found the Stone rolled away
With Transfiguration complete
He left us His Comfort
Salvation, His greatest gift
